Michael J. Spierer, Ph.D. from Psychiatric Services, S.C. is a clinical psychologist and has been practicing in Madison since 1974.  He focuses on psychotherapy involving individuals, couples and families and forensic examinations across a broad range of civil and criminal areas.  He is hired by the Court system, attorneys, employers and insurance company to evaluate an individual who are accused of a criminal offense, in need of a determination about competency to stand trial, in need of a work evaluation or who have been injured in an accident.

Dr. Spierer will describe briefly the training of a psychologist, identify the various areas in which psychologists work, and describe the nature of his clinical practice.   He will also bring examples cases he has worked on.
