Medicare Updates

These will be timely topics related to WPS Medicare operations and will also include some 2011 changes


Presenter: Sue Brewer has 21 years experience with the Medicare program.  As a member of the Provider Outreach and Education team, her responsibilities include presenting seminars on a variety of topics.  Previous positions held include Supervisor of Claims Development and Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) units, Training Specialist and Fair Hearing Officer.  Sue graduated from the

University of Wisconsin- Madison .


Presenter: Peter Scheller has over 9 years of Medicare experience. He has worked in Customer Service, Fraud and Abuse and currently Provider Outreach and Education. During his time in Customer Service he researched and answered Tier 1 and Tier 2 telephone and written inquiries from beneficiaries and providers, as well as training new staff. While working in Fraud and Abuse he investigated and successfully resolved over 150 complaints by researching medical records and provider billing patterns. Since joining Provider Outreach and Education, Pete has created and/or presented training materials to Providers on diverse topics such as Skilled Nursing Facility Consolidated Billing, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Medicare Basics and Searching the WPS Medicare Website. He has presented at live in person seminars and Webinars as well has pre-recorded Computer Based Trainings. Pete has also trained Customer Service Representatives on several subjects, given presentations, and hosted booths at beneficiary events.
