Jamie Counsell-Barker, BSN, RN, SANE, will be joining us to tell about Human Trafficking and the growing concerns with this.  Jamie's presentation will be focused on spreading awareness and prevention, but more importantly knowing what to do with concerns of someone being  a victim of human trafficking.  She will talk about what 'Human Trafficking' is and what we tend to see in our area.  Wisconsin just moved from 5th in the nation to 3rd fro human trafficking and Milwaukee is one of the 'hubs' for traffickers.  Milwaukee is known as the 'Harvard of pimp school' - mainly people go to Milwaukee to learn how to be a pimp/trafficker.

Jamie will also talk about what we can do to keep our community safe and who to talk to if you suspect something.  She will talk about risk factors, myths, some statistics, power and control and how easy it is to become a victim.  She will discuss how to stay safe & spread what you learn, as well as how to stay informed as a parent and what we can do at home.l
