Loretta will discuss the past, present and future of IDC and clinical modifications.  She will also include an overview of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.

Loretta received an Associate Degree in Medical Office Mid-Management at Madison Area Technical College in the spring of 1992. She continued her education in the newly created Medical Coding Specialist Program and obtained the Medical Coding Specialist Certificate in December of 1993.  She received her Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in 1995 and worked in the coding profession for many years.  She then continued her education through the American Health Information Association (AHIMA) by taking their Independent Study Program and obtained her Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) national certification in October of 2000.  Loretta became an instructor for the Medical Coding Specialist Program at Madison Area Technical College latter that same year. She has loved every minute of sharing her enthusiasm for the coding profession and encouraging coding students to grow in their new profession.
